Monta re
“disha hara kyamon boka…Monta re…” Beautifully explaining
the nuances of the confused heart…the song so easily manages to captivate the
attention by its lyrics which strike that softest chord of the heart. We do not
even realize how confused our heart makes us every day in taking decisions. The
heart wants what it wants. It rarely wants to listen to rationale and logic.
The very first line of the song astoundingly portrays how foolishly the heart
flies off using paper wings. Every time I listen to this song, I take a deep
breath, steal a smile to myself and say “It’s okay”. It’s okay to be lost, to
be confused, to cross the societal boundaries and to be hopelessly in
love. The heart is innocently foolish. Let it be that way

Vienna
Life is such a paradox. We spend our entire lives
chasing a destination, only for it to get farther, the closer we think we are
to it. And when we finally reach the end of the line, we regret all the moments
we missed out on because we never slowed down and valued the journey. On days
when it feels as if all the un-lived expectations, abandoned dreams and
over-bearing responsibilities will get the best of me, I find myself listening
to Vienna by Billy Joel. This song reminds me that I am still young, ambitious
and full of life. That I have a whole life ahead of me and it is not going
anywhere. It reminds me to slow down once in a while and enjoy all the quirks
that come with this life. I don’t need to worry too much, Vienna will wait for
me.

Serendipity
That one song that cheers me up
has to be serendipity by BTS Jimin. It is a K-pop song sung by BTS member Jimin
& written by BTS member RM. Although this song is majorly in Korean
& not up to understanding, it’s the music that is so good. Music truly has
no borders and you need not understand the language to enjoy the music. This
song calms my mind and to some extent helps me reduce my anxiety. I listen to
this song whenever I am feeling low, depressed or sad, and for a matter of fact
it’s been my go to song. The song name is serendipity which means to find
interesting or valuable things in life. This song reminds me to love
myself regardless of the fact that we have ups and downs in one’s life. Jimin
the singer of this song said in one of his interview that he wanted to push
himself as a vocalist & those words inspire me to do the same &achieve
more in life.to achieve dreams, to achieve happiness, most importantly love for
myself.

Believer
Yes, you guessed it right. This song Believer
sung by Imagine Dragons always motivates me whenever I am down. Believer is a
song which makes you believe that no matter the circumstances, you can achieve
anything. It makes me feel that whatever I can dream of, I can definitely reach
at its summit. It depicts that nothing lasts forever and this helps me to get
over silly things and get a fresh start. Also, these amazing lyrics throw away
my stubborn sorrow and fill me full of energy and enthusiasm. However, this is
the one thing that I would hear for ages.

Vande Mataram
Music, instruments, taal, good lyrics, sur together makes a beautiful
song. National song "Vande Mataram", not at all because it's
our national song but there's a small yet amazing story behind it. I was
in my 5thgrade and had participated in a singing competition. Well that was my
first ever stage performance. Long story short, being a “not so very famous
kid" in my school, my teachers suggested all the beautiful songs to all
the other participants.
So, I choose "VANDEMATARAM"... and the teachers along
with the participants were 100% sure (more sure than the Dettol which clears
99.9%of germs) that I am not winning the competition....but as my mom says
"Believe in yourself, you can achieve success” and believing the same, I
not only got 1st prize but also the special appreciations from
the judges and the teachers, who were then so sure that I was the only one.
Later my mom told me that it was our national song written by Bankim Chandra
Chatterjee, she explained me the meaning of every stanza. I came to know that
Rabindranath Tagore was the first one to sing the song. Even today when I
listen to the song it cheers me up and gives me positive vibes
saying that "Go Akanksha, you Can do that, no matter what, if you
are tall, dark or not so famous, If you believe in yourself you can achieve
success" and after that I was not only famous (well, that was not my
intentions though) but also I started listening to my parents and tracing each
and every word what they say and if in my life I feel low I listen
to the song "VandeMataram" .

Special Mention
Myself
“But look at me now, I am still dreaming, still believing in myself.”
This is that one song that not only cheers me up but makes me believe in
myself, gives me hope, inspires me. A song that tells us while you are a kid
life’s perfect but growing up things don’t always work out as we want, and then
we search for someone to fix us. But in the end it’s the realisation that no
one else but you yourself will save you, will grow you. This song has got me
out of my tough times, heartbreaks - it was like a little support system
telling me over and over again that I am complete, I am sufficient. All I need
is to believe in myself, love myself and not care what people out there think
about me. That yes I had everything planned out but sometimes things don’t work
out and it’s okay, life, things - everything won’t be perfect and planned.
There are curveballs and I’ve learned to live with it.
There was a time when I wasn’t believing and loving myself but this song
made me do it all over again.

Castle of Glass

This is one of the songs that I have been listening to since long time. Something about this song cheers me up, lightens my shoulders and lifts my spirit. The music itself makes me forget about my worries and everything around! I listen to it when I am happy or sad! Listening to this song makes me feel better, gives me hope in hopeless situation and mentally helps me to be calm and composed. I have played this song over and over so many times that my Mom recognises the music and its beats. Somewhat she also likes this song! Somehow I feel someone standing beside me during hard times when I listen to it, I feel as if someone's supporting and helping me to stand up on my feet to face the world! I will love this song forever.
